Up-and-coming bluegrass phenom William Apostol—better known as Billy Strings—recently announced his forthcoming studio album, HOME, which is due out on September 27th via Rounder Records. The new album marks Billy’s second full-length studio release.
Premiered via The Boot earlier this week, Strings has now released “Away From The Mire”, the second song off of his forthcoming record. “Away From The Mire” follows up Strings’ previously released lead single, “Taking Water”. “Away From The Mire” opens up with a mixture of String’s twangy guitar and lush vocals before his backing band joins in for a full-on pickin’ party. The new tune showcases String’s multi-faceted musical abilities, from songwriting to ripping up the guitar to handling a tender vocal lead.
