The Kimmel appearance was announced during the setbreak of Billy’s Sunday, July 19th Streaming Strings show from the The Station Inn in Nashville. [Originally published 3/9/20]: Prodigious bluegrass picker Billy Strings will make his late-night TV debut when he and his eponymous band head to Los Angeles for a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! set to air on Thursday, March 26th. Billy Strings (born William Apostol) has been rapidly gaining fans over the course of the last year with the release of his latest album, Home, and his ongoing road warrior ways. The Billy buzz was strong enough to land him on Live For Live Music‘s 2019 list of the Breakout Artists of the Year. Look for Strings to earn thousands of new fans when his progressive bluegrass chops are broadcast to listeners around the country on March 26th.
The announcement of the upcoming Billy Strings performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! follows the guitarist/singer/bandleader’s recent run of shows in Michigan with his dad, Terry Barber, billed as Family Strings. All four of those shows quickly sold out.
