Bob Weir and Wolf Bros were back in action on Tuesday as the Grateful Dead-inspired trio continued its week-long run at Mill Valley, CA’s Sweetwater Music Hall for night two. Following Monday’s Bob Dylan covers-heavy performance, the trio, led by Weir, made a note to share more songs out of the RatDog songbook on this night.

Tuesday’s performance opened with a pair of covers beginning with the audience-engaging, call-and-response tune “Iko Iko” and Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried”. From there, the trio delivered its first RatDog originals of the night with “Even So” into “October Queen”. A take on the traditional “Peggy-O” came next, followed by a return to the Dylan universe for “Queen Jane Approximately”. The set came to a close following a take on Jerry Garcia‘s “Loser” and finally “Let It Grow” from the Dead’s 1973 Wake of the Flood.

The second half of the show opened with another cover as the trio returned to start the set with a take on Little Feat‘s “Easy to Slip” which grooved its way right into the Dead’s cosmic anthem “Dark Star”. From there, Weir and Lane again returned to their RatDog days with a performance of “Two Djinn” before continuing with “Standing on the Moon”, “Throwing Stones”, and closing with “Shakey Ground”.
The show’s two-song encore saw the band return to pick up where they left off on “Dark Star” before sending fans into the night with “Ripple”. Watch the band’s cover of “Easy to Slip” to open the second half of last night’s show below.
