[UPDATE 11/21/22]: New York-based concert promoter CEG Presents has announced some new additions to its schedule of pre-parties and after-parties around the city set to take place during the 2022 Phish New Year’s run at Madison Square Garden. Highlights of the series include performances by rising jam bands like Eggy (12/28), Neighbor (12/30), and Dogs In A Pile (12/30).

One dollar from every ticket sold during the Phish after-parties series, which takes place from December 28th through December 31st, will be donated to Phish’s non-profit organization, the WaterWheel Foundation.

On Wednesday, December 28th, hard-touring Connecticut jam quartet Eggy will perform after midnight at The Cutting Room while Marble Eyes (featuring members of Pink Talking Fish, Kung Fu, and more) plays a free show at nearby Hill Country.

Before Phish’s MSG show on Thursday, December 29th, The Dude of Life—writer of such Phish favorites as “Fluffhead”, “Suzy Greenberg”, and “Run Like an Antelope”—will host a pre-party at Hill Country benefitting the WaterWheel Foundation. Admission to the Dude’s pre-party is free, with donations to the cause strongly encouraged. The event will also include raffles for Phish and Dude of Life merchandise and memorabilia.

After the 12/29 Phish show, The Cutting Room will host a Prince/Bowie tribute featuring The Horn Section (Chris Brouwers, Josh Schwartz, Greg Sanderson) alongside Eric Gould (Pink Talking Fish), Adrian Tramontano (Twiddle, Kung Fu), Scott Chasolen (The Machine), Cal Kehoe (Pink Talking Fish), and Matt Wayne (Bobby Deitch Band).

The following night, Friday, December 30th, yet another ascending jam quartet, Neighbor, will take over Sony Hall for a late-night show while the energetic young Dogs In A Pile hold down The Cutting Room. Finally, on New Year’s Eve, Pink Talking Fish will party like it’s 2023 with a nightcap at Gramercy Theatre.

CEG Presents co-founder Howie Schnee, who has been promoting jam band concerts in New York City and beyond since 1994, said he notices a renewed sense of excitement surrounding the buzz-worthy bands on the company’s 2022 MSG Phish After-Party lineup. “It is great to have Pink Talking Fish back and to welcome Prince/Bowie to the series,” he told Live For Live Music. “I’m also very excited about this next wave of jam bands like Eggy, Neighbor, and Dogs In A Pile who are not only virtuosic, but are focused on quality songwriting. It’s been exciting to watch these bands grow.”
