Cory Wong wrapped up a busy week of shows this past weekend with sold-out performances at New York’s Beacon Theatre (Thursday), Philadelphia’s The Fillmore (Friday), and Boston’s House of Blues (Saturday).
The Vulfpeck guitarist is currently on tour with bass wizard Victor Wooten, to whom Wong has referred as his “hero.” The accomplished bassist appears on Wong’s latest studio album, Power Station, a star-studded disc featuring Billy Strings, Sierra Hull, Wooten’s partner-in-crime Béla Fleck, and many more.
Wong’s tour with featured guest Wooten and opening act Trousdale is set to run into early March before Wong hits the festival circuit. His spring/summer docket includes spots at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the new Echoland Music Festival at The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, Summer Camp Music Festival, Bonnaroo, and many more.
