Cory Wong has teamed up with Premier Guitar to launch the Wong Notes podcast, a new audio-only series that will hear the funk guitarist engage in long-form conversations will musicians like Béla Fleck, John Scofield, Eric Johnson, and James Valentine.
Wong Notes will debut on Wednesday, May 27th with an episode featuring guitar virtuoso, songwriter, and composer, Joe Satriani. Presented by Fender, the lifelong “Strat Guy”, Cory Wong, will sit down with a variety of guests over the first season of the podcast, including Molly Tuttle, Rob Harris, Sean Hurley, George Benson, Yvette Young, and more.

Best known for leading his own solo outfit alongside collaborations with Vulfpeck and the Fearless Flyers, Wong’s new podcast will be less like a typical album cycle-style interview and more of a peer to peer conversation between fellow musicians. Fans will be able to listen to Wong Notes episodes of streaming platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google, Overcast, and more. Click here for more information and for a season one teaser.
Wong has had a busy 2020 up to this point, as the musician released his fourth studio album, Elevator Music for an Elevated Mood, back in January, followed by his Live In Amsterdam album in April. While he is currently scheduled to perform at Fuji Rock Festival on August 22nd, the status of all live events is in question due to the ongoing health crisis.
