Dave Matthews Band has shared the title track from Walk Around The Moon, marking the third and final single from the band’s tenth studio album, which is due out this Friday, May 19th. The band will embark on an extensive summer tour the day of the album release.
Debuted at DMB’s July 2021 Walnut Creek Amphitheatre show, “Walk Around The Moon” tells a trippy tale of fungus-fueled wanderings. It follows previously released singles “Madman’s Eyes” and “Monsters”.
“This song is about taking a walk in the woods with unexpected consequences,” Matthews told the crowd before playing the song for the first time. With pretty melodies and a subtle blues shuffle, the track conveys a dreamy ambiance. The lyrics are unashamedly psychedelic, reflecting otherworldly explorations through a technicolor wonderland: “It’s blue, and it’s red / Found a new door inside of my head / How could I go to bed / Think I’ll walk around the moon instead.”
Walk Around The Moon is Dave Matthews Band’s first studio album since 2018’s Come Tomorrow, which marked the band’s then-record seventh consecutive studio set to debut at number one on the Billboard 200.
Coinciding with release of Walk Around The Moon on Friday, May 19th, Dave Matthews Band will embark on a U.S. summer tour with stops at large stadiums and amphitheaters across the country including two-night stands in Wilmington, NC; Charleston, SC; Noblesville, IN; Chicago, IL; Gilford, NH; Saratoga Springs, NY; Camden, NJ; West Palm Beach, FL and Irvine, CA. The tour will culminate with the band’s annual three-day, Labor Day weekend celebration at Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA on September 1st–3rd. Click below for a full list of tour dates.
