[2/1/24]: After teasing the announcement of a residency at Las Vegas, NV’s Sphere with a tie-dye light display on the venue’s exosphere on Tuesday night, Dead & Company have announced the details of their 18-show 2024 residency at the technologically advanced venue, billed as Dead Forever – Live at Sphere.

The residency, split up into six separate three-night runs, will kick off with a set of shows on May 16th, 17th, and 18th in Las Vegas and continue for three nights each weekend before wrapping up on June 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Five of the six three-night stretches will take place from Thursday through Saturday. The remaining trio of shows, May 24th–26th, will take place from Friday through Sunday. Per the band’s announcement, each weekend’s three performances will feature a unique setlist.

Dead Forever will feature “never-before-seen visual storytelling” from Dead & Company, utilizing the innovative and immersive elements of Sphere to allow fans to forge new connections to the Grateful Dead‘s timeless songbook. Per a press release circulated by Dead & Company, “These shows will utilize Sphere’s next-generation technologies, including the world’s highest resolution LED display that wraps up, over, and around the audience creating a fully immersive visual environment. The venue also features the world’s most advanced concert-grade audio system, Sphere Immersive Sound, powered by HOLOPLOT, which delivers audio with unmatched clarity and precision to every guest.”

The band, which features Grateful Dead vets Bob Weir and Mickey Hart alongside John MayerOteil BurbridgeJeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane, widely touted its 2023 summer stadium trek as “The Final Tour,” though various band members have since offered comments indicating that the band was far from finished. As Dead & Company quipped in a promo teaser for the Sphere residency posted on Wednesday, “In 2023, Dead & Company played their final tour. But there are other ways to make sure the music never stops. And it’s gonna be a ball.”

Tickets for Dead & Company’s Dead Forever Sphere residency start at $145 and will reflect all-in pricing, meaning the ticket price listed is the full, out-of-pocket price inclusive of taxes and fees. To ensure that tickets get directly into the hands of fans, advance pre-sale registration, powered by Seated, is now open here. The Artist Pre-sale begins Monday, February 5th at 10:00 a.m. PT. Advance registration does not guarantee tickets as supplies are limited. General on-sale will begin Friday, February 9th at 10:00 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster.

Vibee is the official VIP Concert & Hotel Package partner for Dead & Company’s 2024 residency at Sphere and is the only way to access ticket bundles for any of the full weekend runs. Fans can purchase various Vibee packages through the official pre-sale beginning Friday, February 2nd, at 10:00 a.m. PT. Additionally, all Vibee VIP package holders will receive priority entry into the Dead & Company Fan Portal coming soon to The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. Dead & Company and Activist will continue their work with longtime sustainability partner REVERB to reduce the residency’s environmental footprint and engage fans to take action for people and the planet. They will also partner with HeadCount, which uses the power of music to register voters and promote participation in democracy.

Dead & Company marks the third act to book a run of shows at the recently opened Sphere. U2 helped launch the venue in the fall of 2023 with a lengthy residency due to run through March. Phish will take over Sphere after the Irish rockers wrap up for a four-night stint in April.
