Dickey Betts officially kicked off his comeback tour with a show at the Macon City Auditorium in Macon, GA  promoted by Friends With Benefits, two days after hosting a “live rehearsal” in his current hometown of Sarasota, FL. The concert showcased plenty of favorites from the Allman Brothers Band catalog, but most importantly, it saw Betts and ABB drummer Jaimoe collaborate for the first time since Betts parted ways with ABB in 2000.

Jaimoe made his appearance during the ABB concert staple “Whipping Post”, which also featured a sit-in from Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band saxophonist Kris Jensen, who stuck around for “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” as well. According to Jambands.com, singer Bonnie Bramlett—who toured with ABB in the ’70s—and her daughter Bekka also joined the band for a few tunes.
