Joe Russo’s Almost Dead has shared pro-shot footage highlighting part of their performance at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. last fall on September 28th, 2019.
The video, which is the latest addition to the rock band’s “Rad Tracks” series, showcases their 10-minute performance of “(Turn On Your) Lovelight” which opened with a solo from Marco Benevento before the pianist dropped into the opening lyrics from the energizing blues tune made famous by the Dead’s original keyboardist Ron “Pigpen” McKernan.

The lively performance followed “Jack Straw” and “Box of Rain” as the closing number for the band’s first set that evening. The rest of the band joined in during the song’s call-and-response chorus lines, which had the fans around the venue bouncing all over the place with excitement before the show entered its set break.
