Karina Rykman has shared a new single, “Elevator”. The glistening indie-pop track follows Rykman’s previous 2019 release of “Plants” as the second single shared by the bassist since launching her own initiative as a solo artist earlier this year.

The dreamy recording immediately puts the listener in a relaxed state of melodic euphoria thanks to the smooth mix of synth and keyboard notes which flutter around Rykman’s core baseline from the get-go. “Elevator” doesn’t have much lyrical content aside from the occasional faint lines of “Going up, Going up, Elevator,” as sung by Rykman. Overall, the semi-instrumental perfectly meshes the relaxed vibes of chill-hop with Rykman’s love for experimental pop, making for an easy and enjoyable listening experience.
Gabe Monro assisted with the overall production of the track, while Elijah Fox also contributed to the recording process with the magical-sounding notes of his keyboards.

Rykman’s solo efforts took a big step this year as she embarked on a run of her own headlining tour performances throughout the spring. She’s kept busy throughout the fall months thus far with an ongoing run of shows as part of Marco Benevento‘s live band.
Rykman will look to close out her 2019 on a high note with a Phish MSG afterparty performance at Nublu in New York City on December 28th. Head to Rykman’s website for tickets and tour info.
