King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard continued its rollout of music videos for Butterfly 3000 with new visual accompaniment for the album’s title track. The Australian psych outfit’s 18th studio album arrived on streaming platforms back in June.

“Butterfly 3000” is the album’s final track to get the expansive video treatment following “Ya Love“, “Black Hot Soup“, “2.02 Killer Year“, “Catching Smoke“, “Interior People“, “Blue Morpho“, “Dreams“, “Shanghai“, and “Yours“. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, ever the innovators, shared no singles or videos ahead of Butterfly 3000‘s release, instead letting the mystery surrounding the album build more hype than any new tracks.

The video for “Butterfly 3000” arrives like a TV set getting wheeled into an elementary school classroom. The decades-old episode of NOVA gets popped in the VCR and viewers are awash in a retro kaleidoscopic array of swirling lights and colors like you accidentally stood up too fast. Though the video at times borders on sensory overload, it meshes blissfully with the synth-driven direction of King Gizz’s latest work—that is until the end of the video sends viewers into ludicrous speed before “Butterfly 3000” goes to plaid.

“Butterfly 3000” Lyrics

Butterfly 3000… Butterfly 3000…

Hope that I am worthy of your love.
Hope I am deserving of your love.
Hope you can brush off the powers that be.
Hope I can empower femininity.
Hope I can teach you how to be mostly happy.
Hope you don’t let the world crush you, for it is beautiful out there and theres a lot to see.
Hope I can teach you to see the splendour of the moment.
Hope you can see the beauty within the grim worlds ugly mess.
