It has been a busy few weeks for Marcus King. After releasing his debut solo album, El Dorado, on January 17th, King has played his own headlining shows, made Mexican festival appearances, and even made his Jimmy Kimmel Live debut.

Now, just 11 days later, El Dorado is crushing in nearly every metric possible. The album debuted at number one on various charts, including “Top New Artist,” “Americana Folk,” “Current Rock,” “Blues Albums,” and is at number 12 on the “Top Current Albums” chart.

Instead of taking a bit of time to celebrate, Marcus King has kept the train rolling by sharing an acoustic performance of “Break”. Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, who produced the Fantasy Records release, performed the track acoustically with King.

Marcus shared some insight into the meaning of “Break” before the duo began:

The one party knows they’re going to hurt the other one because it’s kind of in their way and the other person knows they’re going to be broken-hearted. It’s just to kind of say that if you’re going to have your heart broken anyway, at least let me be the one to do so.

Listen to Marcus King and Dan Auerbach perform “Break” below.
