Mavis Staples has released a timely new single in hopes of lifting the spirits of the music community during these drastically uncertain times. Entitled, “All In It Together”, the feel-good, Americana-inspired tune hears Staples team up with Wilco singer/guitarist Jeff Tweedy, and the two make for a perfect match on the new track.
The 3:38 minute recording grooves along with a nice bounce fueled by some wonderful acoustic and electric guitar lines to go with the two’s duet-styled opening verse lines of “We’re all in it together/Every boy and every girl/We all gotta get it together/Everybody in the world.”

Staples is scheduled to embark on a co-headlining tour with Norah Jones this summer, but those shows are now in doubt with the live industry on hiatus for the foreseeable future. Earlier this week Staples announced the postponement of her upcoming performances with Patty Griffin to the fall.
As for Wilco, the band has its own upcoming run of summer tour dates alongside Sleater-Kinney which now may no longer happen depending on the status of the touring industry in the next few months.
