After COVID thwarted a planned tour behind 2020’s Gigaton, Pearl Jam finally returned to stages around the globe with a 2022 world tour. Navigating the post-lockdown touring ecosystem, the band faced its fair share of challenges both internal and external. Shortly after beginning the North American trek, the band employed a number of ringers to sit in on drums after Matt Cameron tested positive for COVID.

Then while in Europe, the band was forced to cancel a pair of concerts after frontman Eddie Vedder damaged his vocal cords during a concert in Paris. In the end, the band finished out the tour with memorable shows both at home and abroad, including an intimate concert at New York’s famed Apollo Theater as well as an emotional show at Madison Square Garden on the anniversary of 9/11.
