Phish ‘Dinner and a Movie’ Ep. 8 – 8/3/18 – Alpharetta, GA – Full Show

The meal portion of this week’s installment once again comes from drummer Jon Fishman and his wife Briar. Just like their last contribution, week eight once again sees the Fishmans offering up a three-course meal, courtesy of the staff of the Lincolnville General Store in Maine. The meal consists of a kale salad, followed by fish cakes, and topped off with blueberry crisp.

This week’s Georgia show follows Episode 1 (8/31/12 and Trey & Sue’s “Between Me and My Mouth” veggie chili), Episode 2 (7/27/14 and Mike’s favorite Hen of the Wood mushroom toast), Episode 3 (7/25/17 and Page’s Tuna Sandwich), Episode 4 (8/22/15 and the Fishmans’ three-course meal), Episode 5 (7/9/19 and the Anastasio family recipe for Eggplant Parmigiana), Episode 6 (10/28/16 and Mike’s vegetarian feast), and Episode 7 (1/15/17 and Page’s tacos).

The Fishmans’ three-course meal once again raises the bar for the dinner portion of Dinner and a Movie. While the other band members have submitted fairly pedestrian recipes for things like veggie chili or a tuna sandwich, the Fishmans have again presented fans with a full meal. While this repast is a bit more labor intensive than Episode 4’s feast of white bean dip, (Magna) meatballs with homemade tomato sauce, and chocolate mouse, the husband and wife culinary duo appear confidant that fans are up to the challenge.

For Episode 8 of Dinner and a Movie, Phish has chosen Feeding America as their non-profit beneficiary. As the announcement notes,

For more than 40 years, Feeding America has responded to the needs of individuals struggling with food insecurity in this country through its national network of food banks. During the COVID-19 crisis, food banks are doing what they do best – feeding people in need, with staff and volunteers woking overtime to support their communities.
