Karina Rykman played a sold-out show at The Pressroom in Portsmouth, NH with her eponymous trio Wednesday night.
Rykman made headlines over the weekend collaborating with Phish bassist Mike Gordon during her show at Nectar’s in Burlington, VT on Saturday, December 3rd. The two bassists jammed on Rykman’s song “City Kids” along with guitarist Adam November and drummer Chris Corsico. Even without help from Cactus—or perhaps because of the buzz generated by the bassists’ meeting—Rykman had no trouble filling the intimate Pressroom, which holds a capacity of less than 200 spectators.
if anyone got any video of me running into the wall from last night plz send to me! This almost captures it but you can’t see the full contact. Got too hype and the stage was smaller than I thought 😂😂😂😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/JxtKT8lfwA

Following Wednesday’s sold-out performance, tonight’s show at Sun Tiki Studios in Portland, ME—another intimate, sub-200-cap venue—is also nearly sold out. The last few tickets are available here.
Rykman has shows remaining in Bridgeport, CT tomorrow, Friday, December 9th and Washington, D.C. on Saturday, December 10th. She will then join Neal Francis for a New Year’s Eve celebration at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, CO on December 31st, and in 2023, she will set sail with Jam Cruise 19 in February and journey to Reykjavik, Iceland for The Disco Biscuits‘ Tranceatlantic event in May (where the dancetronic artists have already hinted at a sit-in).
