Soul, funk, and R&B singer Shira Elias stopped by Winton’s Beach Club in San Diego, CA on Friday. The show was part of a three-night run of solo dates marking the last shows before the release of her new album, SERVICES the EP, on December 2nd.

Having made a name for herself as one of Turkuaz’s powerhouse vocalists alongside Sammi Garett, Elias stepped out to center stage with her 2020 solo debut, GOODS the EP. Now she is gearing up to share the follow-up to her first release, having recently dropped the first preview with “HOOK’D”. Another single, “EARTH SUN”, will arrive on November 10th. Elias completed the Amethyst solo tour earlier this year—her first since leaving Turkuaz in November 2021—with a band led by her spouse Joel Fuentes, a.k.a. MEGA, who produced the new EP. After kicking off the run at The Mint in their new hometown of Los Angeles on Thursday, the two shared the stage with a band featuring bassist Rob Walker of The Main Squeeze, keyboardist Quinntin Smith, and drummer Matt Vorzimer, a.k.a. E-Cussionist, on Friday.

Following the release of SERVICES the EP on December 2nd, Elias will reconvene with her former Turkuaz bandmates Sammi Garett, Chris BrouwersJosh SchwartzGreg SandersonMichelangelo Carubba, and Craig Brodhead for a Cool Cool Cool set at North Beach Music Festival on December 10th. In 2023, she will join the group on Jam Cruise 19 and on the road with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew for the Remain In Light tribute tour.

But first, she will link up with The Main Squeeze on January 14th for the third annual Denver Comes Alive, a two-day event at Denver’s Mission Ballroom featuring one night of bluegrass and Americana (1/13), with performances by Yonder Mountain String BandKitchen DwellersMaggie Rose, and more, and one night of funk (1/14) featuring LettuceThe Word, and The Main Squeeze, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting Backline.
