Audiences worldwide can get a taste of the Big Easy starting February 3rd with the streaming release of Take Me To The River: New Orleans. The second film in director Martin Shore‘s Take Me To The River music documentary series will precede a live tour featuring artists from the movie including DumpstaphunkGeorge Porter Jr., and more.

The release of Take Me To The River: New Orleans comes just ahead of the 65th annual Grammy Awards, where “Stompin’ Ground” featuring Aaron Neville and Dirty Dozen Brass Band is up for Best American Roots Performance. The track appears in the film and was produced by Shore along with Eric Krasno, one of many participating artists. Recently, the film’s producers shared a behind-the-scenes video showing the recording of “Stompin’ Ground” including interviews with the late Charles Neville alongside his brother Aaron and nephew Ivan Neville.

Following the documentary’s release, a rotating cast of participating artists will hit the road for Take Me To The River Live! The run of concerts throughout the Western United States begins on February 24th in Portland, OR and will carry Dumpstaphunk, George Porter Jr., Jon ClearyGalacticBo Dollis Jr., and The Absolute Monster Gentlemen through Oregon, Washington, California, New Mexico, and Colorado before wrapping on March 11th in Boulder. The follow-up to Martin Shore’s 2014 documentary on Memphis music culture, Take Me To The River: New Orleans takes that mission to the Crescent City.
