The Disco Biscuits hit their monthly quota of new music on Friday with the single “M1”. The track arrives as the band’s third new song this year, affirming its commitment to sharing a new composition every month leading up to the release of a yet-untitled album this summer.

“M1” comes to life with the space-age keys of Aron Magner, before plummeting down into a Blade Runner meets Scarface club scene. The track goes heavy on the band’s dance tendencies, with hypnotically melodic rhythms and blips. Jon “Barber” Gutwillig confines himself to an earworm riff that pervades the track until finally unleashing the beast with overdrive-laden lacerations to close the song. The Disco Biscuits debuted “M1” on August 20th, 2021 at Northlands at Swanzey, NH and have played it nine times total, per Phantasy Tour.

“It’s been a really positive experience for us to be in the studio so much lately, making new music and trying new things together through these songs,” the band said in a statement. “By exploring new techniques and technologies that combine the worlds of live improvisational rock and studio EDM, we humbly hope to continue on the path of pioneering new sounds in jamtronica and beyond — both in the studio and at our live shows with all of you.”
