The Rolling Stones have announced the forthcoming release of a concert film and live album centered around the band’s December 20th, 1989 performance at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City, NJ.

The performance on the Jersey Shore came as part of the band’s first tour of America in eight years and featured sit-ins from some of the biggest rock artists in music at that time including Guns N’ Roses members Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin, fellow “British Invasion” guitarist Eric Clapton, and the late bluesman John Lee Hooker. The 1989 run of shows also marked the band’s last-ever tour with bassist Bill Wyman.

Both the live album and concert film are set to arrive via CD, colored vinyl, DVD, and Blu-ray on September 25th. The Steel Wheels box set will also come with a retro tour t-shirt, trucker hat, and the album in a limited edition colored 4LP package. This December 1989 performance was also the same night as the band’s infamous backstage run-in with then-real estate and casino mogul Donald Trump. Apparently, the band did not like the fact that Trump breached the contract with his marketing of the event by placing his name—in a larger font than the band’s, not surprisingly—on the promotional signage and hosted a press conference in one of their designated rooms. As tour promoter Michael Cohl told industry outlet Pollstar in 2016, “[Keith Richards] pulls out a knife, slams it on the table, and says, ‘What the hell do I have you for? Do I have to go over there and fire him myself? One of us is leaving the building – either him, or us.’”

Ultimately, Trump left the band’s press room, but not before “Three shtarkers he’s with, in trench coats, two of them are putting on gloves and the other one is putting on brass knuckles,” according to Cohl. The promoter responded by calling the band’s head of security, who “Got 40 of the crew with tire irons and hockey sticks and screwdrivers.”

Last month, The Rolling Stones announced the forthcoming deluxe reissue of 1973 Goat’s Head Soup, which is also set to arrive in September. The archive reissue will feature stereo remixes of rarities, outtakes, alternative mixes, and unreleased songs from the original recording sessions including the recently-shared “Scarlet” featuring Jimmy Page and Ric Grech.
