Thundercat has announced a host new of 2022 solo tour dates, adding to his slate supporting gigs for Red Hot Chili Peppers and Khruangbin.

The charismatic bassist, band leader, and actor will hit the road in support of the Red Hot Chili Peppers in June. Following Thundercat’s appearance at Pharrell Williams‘s Something In The Water Festival, the bands will perform shows in Europe before returning to play at some of the largest venues in North America, including Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA; T-Mobile Park in Seattle, WA; MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ; Soldier Field in Chicago, IL; Fenway Park in Boston, MA; and more.

Thundercat will supplement his supporting dates with the Red Hot Chili Peppers with a smattering of headlining and festival plays, including shows at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas; Orpheum Theater in Vancouver, BC; The National in Richmond, VA; Orpheum Theater in New Orleans, LA; and appearances at Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa and FORMAT Festival.

He will also perform as support for Khruangbin at Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin, TX on September 24th.

Thundercat and the Red Hot Chili Peppers collaborated in 2016 when the bassist provided additional bass on the song “Go Robot” at iHeartRadio‘s release party for the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 2016 album The Getaway.

In 2020, Thundercat released his latest album, It Is What It Is, which received the Libera Award for Best R&B Record 2021 from the American Association of Independent Music. The album was also nominated for Record of the Year at the Grammys that year.

Thundercat recently made his acting debut in the fourth episode of The Book of Boba Fett, playing a “Mod Artist” that Boba Fett enlists to save Fennec Shand‘s life in a flashback scene.
