Umphrey’s McGee got some assistance from bassist and bandleader Karina Rykman on Tuesday night at Boise, Idaho’s Treefort Music Hall.
After beginning the show with “Educated Guess”, “Got Your Milk (Right Here)”, “Always October”, “It Doesn’t Matter Much”, and “Walletsworth”, Umphrey’s McGee bassist Ryan Stasik let Karina rock the low-end on a rendition of “Night Nurse”.
As Rykman said in a post about the UM sit-in, “Had a blast getting right off the [plane] and on to the stage with [Umphrey’s McGee] last night! Thanks so much for having me, you delightful lunatics.”

Rykman has built up an impressive resume of sit-ins with notable jam bands. While this marked her first time as a guest with Umphrey’s McGee, she has previously jammed with Phish, The Disco Biscuits, moe., and more.
Rykman is in Boise for the next two days performing at Treefort Music Festival (The Bandshell on Wednesday, March 20th and back at Treefort Music Hall on Thursday, March 21st). Umphrey’s McGee is in the midst of a busy tour out West. The Boise performance on Tuesday followed a four-night, four-city run in the Pacific Northwest. The prog-jam sextet will round out its March schedule this week with yet another four-night, four-city stretch featuring performances in Stateline, NV (3/21), San Francisco (3/22), Los Angeles (3/23), and San Diego (3/24).
