Umphrey’s McGee finished out a two-night run at The Pageant in St. Louis on Saturday with a pair of cover debuts from Living Colour and Bad Company, as well as a Ween bust-out. The show also marked bassist Ryan Stasik‘s 45th birthday.

The show started off with a bang with the group’s third-ever take on “It’s Gonna Be A Long Night” by Ween. Though this was only the third performance of the Quebec track since its debut on 2/17/08 (per All Things Umphrey’s), though those stats are a little murky considering UM likes to mash it up with Motorhead‘s “Ace Of Spades”. The hybrid composition “Ace Of Long Nights” was included on 2016’s Zonkey and has been performed live twice, both in 2012.

The show rolled on with the original “Eat” followed by a hefty “Remind Me”. The following “FF” was preceded by a “Birthday Bass Jam” intro from Stasik before a segue into the setlist staple “Hajimemashite”. “Domino Theory” fell next before Umphrey’s told audiences to “Go To Hell”. Stasik once again preceded the next song with a bass intro—this time from Michael Jackson‘s “Human Nature”—before the band dug into “August”. The first set came to a close with the first cover debut of the night as drummer Kris Myers took vocals on Living Colour’s “Cult of Personality”.

Returning for the second frame, Umphrey’s McGee opened up with “It Doesn’t Matter”. This set up a series of segues that would span the entire second set, moving first into a lengthy “Ocean Billy”. A brief run through “Uncommon” came next, followed by a transition into “Hangover”, “The Triple Wide”, and finally an expansive “1348” to close the second set.

Taking The Pageant stage for one last time that weekend, Stasik led his team back out as he told the audience, “Happy birthday to me. Love each other, drink water, get lots of sleep, don’t be a dick.” Guitarist Brendan Bayliss chimed in, saying, “I didn’t know 45-year-old men could still celebrate their birthdays,” while fellow guitarist Jake Cinninger teased The Beatles‘ “Birthday”. Not to be outdone, Stasik responded with, “The only request I have for my birthday is that you all get laid consensually.” Immediately following that machismo brandishing, Umphrey’s McGee debuted a cover of “Feel Like Makin’ Love” by Bad Company before “Glory” closed out the show as well as the run.
