On Monday night, Wilco served as the musical guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

The band performed “Everyone Hides”, off of their forthcoming studio album, Ode To Joy, which is set for release this Friday, October 4th via the band’s own dBpm Records. Ode To Joy marks Wilco’s first LP since 2016’s Schmilco. The 11-track album was recorded in Chicago, IL at the band’s The Loft studio. Frontman Jeff Tweedy and drummer Glenn Kotche were “the launching pad from which most of the songs on Ode To Joy materialized,” as explained in a press statement.

In September, Wilco previewed the new album with “Everyone Hides”, which was accompanied by a music video, and the previously released lead single, “Love Is Everywhere (Beware)”. For their performance on The Late Show, Jeff Tweedy sounded strong with the vocal lead, backed by the band’s percussive-heavy lush soundscape. Nels Cline dazzled the crowd with a few brief, yet fierce guitar solos as screens flickered with different animations behind the band.
