Willie Nelson has shared the new music video for his country cover of “It’s Hard To Be Humble”, one of the singles to appear on the veteran country guitarist’s forthcoming studio album, Ride Me Back Home.
The song’s arrival on Friday follows the previously shared video for the album’s title track released back in late April. Similar to the storyline format featured in the video for “Ride Me Back Home”, “It’s Hard To Be Humble” also takes viewers behind the scenes with a mix of video footage showing Nelson working in the studio.
The song, originally written and released by Mac Davis back in 1984, has a light-hearted, almost cheeky sentiment within its lyrics which sounds entirely fitting coming out of Nelson’s mouth as sings, “Oh lord it’s hard to be humble, when you’re perfect in every way/I can’t wait to look in the mirror, ’cause I get better looking each day.”
The recording also features contributions from Nelson’s sons Micah and Lukas Nelson, with the latter also celebrating the arrival of a new album on Friday.
