Worship My Organ, a beloved staple of the Jazz Fest season, will return to New Orleans on Saturday, April 26th for another thrilling edition at Toulouse Theatre [ticketing information].
The Fest by Nite 2025 edition of the dueling-organ supergroup will feature Worship My Organ regulars Robert Walter (organ; Greyboy Allstars, Mike Gordon, Roger Waters), Skerik (saxophone; Les Claypool), and Adam Deitch (drums; Lettuce, Break Science) in addition Big Easy music dignitary Ivan Neville (organ, vocals; Dumpstaphunk).
Over the past decade-plus, Worship My Organ has become a staple during the Jazz Fest season by hosting nail-biting B3 bouts between world-class organists. Past lineups have included organists John Medeski, Marco Benevento, Neal Francis, Wil Blades, and Walter, usually backed by Deitch on drums and pushed into the improvisational ether by Skerik. In the past, NOLA drummer Simon Lott, Lettuce trumpeter and provocateur Eric “Benny” Bloom, ever-present Jazz Fest after dark trumpeter Maurice “Mobetta” Brown, DJ Logic, and even Phish’s Mike Gordon have slid into the malleable lineup. Even as New Orleans venues have changed hands and names or shuttered entirely, this unique, experimental project has persevered. After making its Denver Comes Alive debut in January 2025, Worship My Organ will now turn its sights back to the Big Easy during Jazz Fest Weekend One.
