Yusuf / Cat Stevens has shared his official video for “Wild World”. The new recording of the 1970 singer-songwriter classic was included in Stevens’ recent Tea For The Tillerman 2 50th anniversary reissue, which arrived last month via Cat-O-Log Records/UMe.

Similar to his other new videos for the album’s updated recordings, the viewer is introduced into a fictional world, where this time the kids are running the show. In a way, Yusuf is using the video’s storyline as an attempt to get viewers to look at things differently, similar to how this project allowed him to revisit his old material to give the songs new life with a revitalized feeling of fresh air.

“The film shows how much we need art to direct our thoughts sometimes towards inexpressible goals,” Yusuf added in a statement to go with the video’s arrival on Thursday. “To relive early childlike innocence and keep our eyes of hope open beyond the clouds of war and darkness.”

Yusuf / Cat Stevens’ 2020 take on Tea For The Tillerman also featured new recordings of “Father and Son”, “Where Do The Children Play?”, and “On The Road To Find Out”, which were all shared throughout the summer leading up to the album’s September 18th arrival. To recapture the spirit and energy as heard on the 1970 Tea for the Tillerman sessions, Yusuf reconnected with the album’s original producer Paul Samwell-Smith.
