Earlier this week, Neil Young shared a preview of his upcoming live album with Crazy HorseReturn to Greendale, via the track “Bandit”. Pulled from Young & Crazy Horse’s 2003 concert in Toronto in support of his Greendale rock opera, the archival release is out on November 6th.

This preview of Return to Greendale comes as Young is preparing a myriad of archival releases simultaneously. So far, the singer-songwriter has announced archive releases for his Carnegie Hall debut in 1970, the Road Of Plenty 1980s rarities album, two other archival collections set for release this year, the Noise and Flowers live album and concert film announced last month, and a new EP of music dubbed The Times, all with no firm release date. Last month, he also added to the pile with the Archives Volume 2: 1972—1976 box set, out on November 20th.

The release of Return to Greendale will also be accompanied by a concert film, though Tuesday’s release only featured audio. In a way, the lack of visual accompaniment adds even more depth and character to the fictional town of Greendale, CA that Young creates in his 10-song opera. Coming in at track number six, “Bandit” sees everything slowed down to a contemplative halt. All the while, Young sings the reassuring refrain, “someday you’ll find everything you’re looking for.”
