Alt/indie experimental rock outfit Ghost Light has shared the title track from its upcoming studio album, The Healing, along with an official music video directed by Joe Lee and Christian Strevy.
Due out on October 7th via Royal Potato Family, the new album grapples with the chaotic state of constant change brought on by the pandemic. The album’s title track, “The Healing”, follows “Take Some Time” and “Don’t Say Goodnight Just Yet” as the record’s third single. The song is a melancholy contemplation of fear, purpose, and the need for healing.
“The path to health and healing is often not the path of least resistance but the path of perseverance and doing the work,” lead guitarist/vocalist Tom Hamilton said in a press release. “The Covid times allowed me to have an emotional reckoning with myself. The bouts of depression. The crippling anxiety. Waking up every day and choosing the difficult realizations and the hard truths.”
The band consisting of pianist Holly Bowling, guitarist/vocalist Raina Mullen, drummer Scotty Zwang, Hamilton, and former Turkuaz bassist Taylor Shell, who joined the group earlier this year, will tour in support of its new album this fall, beginning in St. Paul, MN on October 6th, the day before the album’s release.
