Earlier this month, Lake Street Dive announced Obviously, the band’s first studio album in nearly two years which is set to arrive on March 12th. The album’s initial announcement was accompanied by its lead single, “Nobody’s Stopping You Now”. On Wednesday, Lake Street Dive shared a new video showcasing singer/guitarist Rachel Price‘s acoustic rendition of “Nobody’s Stopping You Now” recorded live in a lovely garden setting.
This “Acoustic in the Garden” version finds Price as the only member of Lake Street Dive present as she performs alongside Elise Boeur and Adam Iredale-Grey on violin. Filmed in the picturesque garden at Fiddlehead Studio on a remote island off the western coast of Canada, the setting is almost as serene as Price’s singing. All of these factors together—from the violins to the budding landscape—bolster Lake Street Dive’s ode to originality and heightens the lyrics to a new level of sentimentality.
“Over the summer, I was fortunate to spend some time on a beautiful remote island off the western coast of Canada,” Price said in the video’s description. “My pals Elise Boeur and Adam Iredale-Gray were kind enough to learn Nobody’s Stopping You Now for one of our Lounge Around Sounds streams. Here we are in Elise’s verdant garden (from which I partook of many tasty things!) which doubled as the livest of tracking rooms at Fiddlehead Studio!”
