Eleven-year-old music sensation Nandi Bushell has released yet another live looping video, this time showing off a cover of The Rolling Stones‘ “Gimme Shelter”. This video marks her third live looping video, following February’s release of the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Under The Bridge” and April’s “Where Is My Mind” (Pixies), and follows her release of “The Children Will Rise Up!“, with Roman and Tom Morello, Jack Black, and more.

Sitting in front of her Boss RC 505 looping machine, Bushell began her rendition of “Gimme Shelter” by layering two of Keith Richards‘ guitar lines and then adding a few chords atop. She then hung her Fender guitar on the wall and picked up a Fender bass, splicing in some necessary low end to the mix before spicing it up with a bit of percussion. From there, she stretched her young vocal cords and added the iconic “ooh’s” to the song, before rounding out the rhythm section with the drum kit gifted to her by Lenny Kravitz and Nate Smith back in December 2020.

Bushell wasn’t done there, however. Not even close. She turned around and added some chords on the keyboard before picking up another new instrument, a saxophone. Showing her range of instrumentation she layered some saxophone lines atop the mix before channeling her inner Mick Jagger, singing “War, children/ It’s just a shot away/ It’s just a shot away”. Putting the cherry on top, Bushell then took a minute to flex her guitar skills one more time, adding a solo section to the track along with a smile from ear to ear.
