Thundercat was at the Jimmy Kimmel Live studios in Los Angeles on Monday where the talented jazz bassist was the featured musical guest on the late-night television show. For his latest national television appearance, Thundercat delivered a performance of “Black Qualls”, one of the singles from his forthcoming album, It Is What It Is, and was joined on stage by collaborators Steve Lacy (The Internet), Flying Lotus, and Steve Arrington.

Thundercat’s pink-colored bass along with his sparkling yellow sweater filled the stage with plenty of extra color to match the equally-vibrant energy coming out of everyone’s instruments. Lacy and Arrington shared some of the vocal duties throughout the performance, and Thundercat proved that he has no trouble hitting those higher, falsetto-like notes while plucking along on that monster bass guitar of his.
