Yusuf / Cat Stevens has shared a new claymation video for his 2020 re-recording of “Tea For The Tillerman”. The new version of the old folk song was included on Stevens’ 50th-anniversary reissue of Tea For The Tillerman, which arrived in September via Cat-O-Log Records/UMe.
Shared on New Year’s Day, the colorful video welcomes viewers into the fictional world of which the song’s lyrics create, complete with feel-good visuals of children playing and a tillerman enjoying some tea under the mid-day sun before the picturesque setting turns to a moon-lit night following a brief adventure through the forest.

A number of notable artists including Dave Matthews, Haim, Brandon Boyd (Incubus), Passenger, and more recently took part in the virtual CatSong Festival in tribute to Stevens last month. The one-day event marked a fitting end to a busy year that saw the acclaimed folk singer-songwriter reissue two of his seminal studio albums in 1970’s Tea For The Tillerman and Mona Bone Jakon.
