Connecticut-bred indie-jam quintet Goose has announced the details of a brand new studio album, Dripfield, which will arrive on June 24th via No Coincidence Records. Alongside the announcement, the band released the album’s title track accompanied by a Dylan Hahn-directed music video as well as additional summer tour dates.

Dripfield will mark Goose’s third studio album, following 2016’s Moon Cabin and 2021’s Shenanigans Nite Club. Produced and engineered by D. James Goodwin at The ISOKON in Woodstock, NY, the LP will be the band’s first completed exclusively by an outside producer. Dripfield will contain ten songs, including the title track and “Borne“, which Goose initially shared back on January 18th. Also on the album will be setlist staples “Hot Tea”, “Slow Ready”, “The Whales”, “Arrow”, “Honeybee”, and “726”, along with a couple of unplayed songs like “Hungersite” and the Peter Anspach-penned “Moonrise“.

“James was great. He really got us to think about our approach in so many different ways,” said lead guitarist/vocalist Rick Mitarotonda about working with Goodwin. “I really liked re-working some of the stuff we’ve been playing for years and taking the material in directions I would have never expected.

The eponymous single, “Dripfield”, is a halcyon release for the exponentially-growing five-piece. It serves as a continuation of the band’s sonic wanderlust and ceaseless evolution. Drummer Ben Atkind and percussionist Jeff Arevalo‘s cognitive connection signifies the chemistry that has grown between them over the past 18 months and provides a platform for arpeggiating synths and emotionally-rich vocals.

“The underlying idea of Dripfield is that of saturation,” notes Mitarotonda. “Imagine a piece of earth – it’s kind of like the water level rising and seeping up to the top. It’s a metaphor for the creativity we have inside of us. I’m not sure what pulls it out of us – maybe it’s our subconscious.”

Much like the music video for “Borne“, “Dripfield” brings the viewer to the Mojave Desert on a journey of creative exploration.

“To me, every music video project is a new task of understanding the artist, and finding what I think is the best visual interpretation for them and their music,” says Hahn. “Collaborating with Goose, learning their unique humor and energy, and involving it in the story narrative was a rewarding part of the process.”
