The Daze Between Band will add a new chapter to its growing lore on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 at New Orleans, LA’s Tipitina’s. The ever-evolving outfit, which comes together once a year as the final hours of the “Daze BetweenNew Orleans Jazz Fest weekends slip into the first moments of “Weekend Two,” will be led once again by Eric Krasno alongside members of The Meters, Goose, Dumpstaphunk, Trey Anastasio Band, Lettuce, and more. The show will also feature an opening set by New Orleans favorite DJ Soul Sister [get tickets].

The 2023 edition of the Daze Between Band—presented by Purple Hat ProductionsLive For Live Music, and GMP Live—will feature Krasno alongside a mix of New Orleans legends and collaborators both new and familiar. The Crescent City will be well represented on the lineup by legendary The Meters bassist/vocalist George Porter Jr., Dumpstaphunk’s Ivan Neville (keys/vocals) and Tony Hall (bass/guitar/vocals), and former Dumpstaphunk drummer Raymond Weber. They’ll be joined by the returning Daze Between Band horn section of Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band) and Ryan Zoidis (Lettuce). Newcomers Rick Mitarotonda (guitar/vocals) and Peter Anspach (keys/guitar/vocals) of Goose round out the official lineup for what is sure to be another unforgettable performance.

Since its inception in 2017, The Daze Between Band has blossomed into one of the most celebrated events of the Jazz Fest season. Previous iterations of The Daze Between Band have featured appearances by Warren Haynes, Dave Schools, Oteil Burbridge, Scott Metzger, Jeff Sipe, Tom Hamilton, John Medeski, Robert “Sput” SearightAdam Deitch, MonoNeon, Shira Elias, Grahame Lesh, Elliott Peck, Joey Porter, Erica Falls, Nate Werth, and more. The Daze Between Band at Tipitina’s will take place following the conclusion of the two-day Daze Between New Orleans festival at Faubourg Brewery on Tuesday, May 2nd and Wednesday, May 3rd, where Goose and George Porter Jr. are among the artists scheduled to perform [single- and two-day passes on sale now].

This show is part of a long, varied list of concerts as part of Live For Live Music’s Fest by Nite series during New Orleans Jazz Fest 2023. The series is set to begin during weekend one of Jazz Fest with The Nth Power‘s Tribute to The Gap Band featuring members of Dumpstaphunk and more at Toulouse Theatre (Friday, 4/28, 12:30 a.m.), TAUK‘s Parliament-Funkadelic vs. Sly and the Family Stone celebration featuring Kanika MooreAntwaun Stanley, and The Horn Section at Toulouse Theatre (Saturday, 4/29, 9:00 p.m.); The Funk Sessions featuring members of LettuceGalactic, and more at Toulouse Theatre (Saturday, 4/29, 1:00 a.m.); SPAGA Plays Dead at Toulouse Theatre (Sunday, April 30th, 8:00 p.m.); and Maurice “MOBETTA” Brown & Friends at Toulouse Theatre (Sunday, April 30th, 1:00 a.m.).

During the “Daze Between” Jazz Fest’s two weekends, music fans in New Orleans can also take part in the fun at Daze Between New Orleans, a two-day music festival at Faubourg Brewery on Tuesday, May 2nd and Wednesday, May 3rd featuring four sets of Goose over two nights in addition to performances by Tank and the BangasLawrenceNeal FrancisDavid ShawGeorge Porter Jr. & Runnin’ PardnersEggyMeltHoney Island Swamp BandJ & The Causeways, and The Quickening.
