Screengrab via Grateful Dead "Black-Throated Wind" video
The latest live Grateful Dead video from the band’s “All The Years Live” series is now available through the band’s official YouTube page. The new video showcases “Black-Throated Wind” at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. on June 14th, 1991. This entire show was released in 2001 as View From The Vault, Volume Two.
As the Grateful Dead’s official archivist David Lemieux explains of the song’s frequency on setlists, “From Bob’s first solo record, Ace, ‘Black-Throated Wind’ was consistently in the setlist 1972-1974, but disappeared when the Dead returned after the hiatus in 1976. Thankfully, on 3/16/90 at the Capital Center in Landover, MD, this Weir-Barlow classic returned, and was right through the final tour in 1995.”
