The latest installment in the Grateful Dead’s “All The Years Live” video series is now available on the band’s YouTube channel. The new archive release showcases the Dead’s latter-era performance of the Bob Weir/John Perry Barlow-penned “Feel Like A Stranger” from their June 26th, 1993 performance at Washington, D.C.’s RFK Stadium, which featured a sit-in from then-former touring member Bruce Hornsby on accordion.
The new video is pulled from the same June 26th, 1993 performance as one of the band’s previous “All The Years Live” editions with the video for “Lazy River Road” which was shared last summer.
As Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux notes in the video’s description:
Bob Weir and John Barlow’s wonderful 1980 song was mostly played as a show-opener, and allowed the Dead to jam powerfully to start the show. Like Shakedown Street, Feel Like A Stranger had a long, extended jam after the vocals, and gave Jerry unlimited space to explore his musical ideas. Always a favorite opener of mine, and this one features Bruce on accordion more than a year after he’d left active touring with the Grateful Dead.
