Screengrab via Grateful Dead "So Many Roads" video
The latest installment in the ongoing “All The Years Live” video series from the Grateful Dead is available now on the band’s YouTube channel. The new archival release features a performance of “So Many Roads” from the Dead’s concert at the Buckeye Lake Music Center in Hebron, OH on June 11th, 1993.
One of the better-received songs of the band’s later years, “So Many Roads” is a Robert Hunter-penned track written from Jerry Garcia‘s point of view, and contains powerful vocals with tender chord changes.
As Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux notes in the video’s description,
So Many Roads bounced around the setlist during its lifetime, sometimes appearing in the first set, sometimes the second. I always preferred it in this slot, the penultimate song of the first set before a rocking Weir song to close.
